Calling All Designers!

We have a contest going on and we want you to be a part of it all!  We've worked hard to get our new B team in place.  From girls trying out, to voting on managers, to picking out uniforms, you name it, we've worked on it.  There's just one thing left to do.  Design a logo.  That's where all of you come in.

We're currently accepting submissions for a logo design for The Rock-A-Betty Bruisers.  So if you've got talent, we want to see your work.  Simply design a logo and email it no later than April 20th at midnight, to mspacjam@longislandrollerrebels.com

The winner will be announced on the blog and Facebook on or around April 23rd.  The winner will receive two tickets to the Bruiser bout on June 11th and a LIRR tee shirt.

Good luck to all!

B There!

Were you at our bout on March 12th??  If not, boy did you miss out!  Unfortunately, The Rebels did not win, but it was extremely close.  Team Veterans MadDonna and Captain Morgan did an exceptional job and the rest of the All Stars were on point as well.  In the end, CT won by one point.  Yep, just one!  Final score, 111-110.

So what are you doing Saturday, April 9th?  No plans?  Good, because for the first time EVER our B Team, The Rock-a-Betty Bruisers will be bouting.  They are up against Hudson Valley zomBsquad

Get ready.  Seriously.  I've been watching these up and comers at practice and it seems that they were born with derby in their blood.  They are passionate, skilled and ready to go!

And to sweeten the deal, as if it needed to get any sweeter, catch the unstoppable New York Shock Exchange again as they take on Mass Maelstrom.

See you all there!

Milk & Honey

With so many malls here on Long Island, you know it can sometimes be a challenge to find clothing that's unique.  Well my friends, the challenge is now over!  Milk & Honey, a little shop with a lot of style, sells clothing, shoes and accessories that won't leave you dressed like everyone else.

The Milk & Honey shop in  Rockville Centre has been in business for almost three years and they've recently added a new location in Huntington (selling men's and women's attire).  Best of all, they fully support The Long Island Roller Rebels and have blogged about us today!

Visit their website or swing by one of their locations and score yourself some one-of-a-kind outfits!

Double Feature

Today we're proud to be featured in two Long Island Herald Newspapers.  Check out The Sisterhood of the Traveling Packs and A Fierce Competitor.

We're so happy to have coverage from our local papers and send out thanks to reporters Lee Landor and Tom Steinert and to the LI Herald for their informative and interesting articles.

Finally, thank you to our fellow Rebel, Menoclaws for getting us in front of the public eye!
