Vroom, Vroom...

While many of our girls skated at The 2008 East Coast Derby Extravaganza this weekend, some of us filled our bouting void on Sunday by taking part in another huge, wheel rolling event. We were psyched to participate in The Rose Brucia Foundation Fundraiser along with the most gracious hosts we could ever ask for, The Mortal Skulls. (Special thanks to Billy for being so unbelievably hospitable and organized. You made our day in the hot sun seem shady and breezy.) Tons of bikers started their line up at the Bellmore train station and ended their run at DJ Riders Rhythm and Brews. We may not have had wheels under our feet that day, but as all of the thunder roaring bikes arrived, we all felt a rush of adrenaline that made up for our lack of skates. We were happy to be there to show our support and in doing so were able to meet a bunch of fantastic people, in addition to The Mortal Skulls. We were honored to be introduced to a couple of the dedicated board members of The Rose Brucia Foundation. Then we got to show off a bit as Stephen Lang, a photographer for the LI Pulse, took our pictures. Delicious food and drinks were served as live bands performed (Props to Kosher Kaos for getting on the mic to announce our next bout!!). We had the pleasure of having our merchandise table set up next to a wonderful couple who roll with the 69'ers MC of Brooklyn on one side AND The Mortal Skulls on the other. The 69'ers themselves were also there and happily invited us to participate in their annual bike and car show this August. And last but definitely not least, we chatted it up with Anthony Ferrara of LI Rides, a hot magazine that reps the coolest wheels out there. Some pictures from the event below...
